Story Prompt AI is a Chrome extension built by PixelForgeHub (Yogesh Nichal). This policy explains how the extension handles your data.

Data Collection

This extension does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data with PixelForgeHub or any third party. Your story topics, generated content, and settings stay entirely within your browser.

API Key Usage

When you provide your own Google AI Studio API key (BYOK — Bring Your Own Key), it is stored locally in your browser using chrome.storage. The key is sent directly from your browser to Google's API — it never passes through our servers.

For free trial users: story generation requests are sent through our Cloudflare Worker proxy. The proxy does not log, store, or retain any prompt content or generated stories.

Permissions Explained

• storage: Saves your settings, API key, story library, and language preference locally in your browser. This data never leaves your device.
• clipboardWrite: Enables one-click copy of generated scene prompts, narration, character DNA, and dialogues to your clipboard.
• sidePanel: Displays the story generator as a persistent side panel alongside your workspace.
• tabs: Opens the Google AI Studio API key page in a new tab when you click the setup link. No tab content is read or collected.

Third-Party Services

This extension uses Google's Gemini API (via your own API key or our free trial proxy) to generate story content. Your prompts are sent to Google's servers for processing. Google's use of this data is governed by Google's API Terms of Service.

Data Storage

• Story Library: Saved stories are stored locally using chrome.storage.local. Maximum 50 stories. You can delete any story at any time.
• Generation History: Last 20 generations are auto-saved locally for your convenience. No server-side storage.
• Settings: Language preference, model selection, and API key are synced across your Chrome browsers using chrome.storage.sync.
